CIRES Award Ceiling Increased

CIRES Award Ceiling Increased

On May 10, 2021, the award ceiling for the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science (CIRES) was increased from $206M to $334M to cover additional award activities through the award end date of 8/31/2022. The approved increase creates additional capacity for new research not known when the CIRES award was proposed in FY17.  The increase will allow for the expansion of existing projects, shifts in priorities for NOAA or the Nation, and newly proposed Congressionally funded work.
