Competition for a Southwest Cooperative Institute

NOAA issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to create a new Southwest Cooperative Institute for Ecosystem-Based Management of Living Marine Resources, Ocean Observations, Climate and Weather Studies. The NOFO can be viewed on grants.gov by searching for opportunity number NOAA-OAR-CIPO-2020-2006292.

NOAA has issued two Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to create new Cooperative Institiutes. The NOFOs can be viewed on grants.gov by searching for the opportunity number in parenthesis below.

Public Notice: JISAO Ceiling Increase

On June 17, 2019, NOAA approved a request by the Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO) to increase their funding limit by $10 Million to cover award activities through the award end date of 6/30/2020. JISAO is among the largest and oldest of NOAA’s Cooperative Institutes. It is at the forefront of basic and applied investigations on such critical issues as climate change and its impacts on humans and ecosystems, ocean acidification, fisheries assessments and tsunami modeling and forecasting.
